DNS CLOSED - updated
Hi all,
As of now 'we' will not be offering DNS anymore.
The client (the overall company) is giving us too much hassle. The one moment they tell us, make sure you fill the peak hours, so we we work our asses off and put people in. And a week later on top of all accounts of the people who use VPN or show no IP at all, they start closing accounts for 'quality' because there are too many people in. And even then there is little traffic.
Okay we do understand this is all corona related and they too do not know what the next week will look like at the moment, but still.
The latest thing is that there were going to close all accounts with high numbers, because they are more likely to commit abuse or write bad quality messages.
Well, we have been operators too and we know that is at least a 'tad straightforwarded'. Also compaired to other parties we have very little abuse. Would have been nicer, if they would just be open about it, in stead of making it seam it is all 'our' fault. But okay that is business.
As you know we already rejected USA traffic before. The reason for that was that they wanted to lower their price even more and we now came to the point that is about to happen for the countries we have left. And we simply are not willing to offer an even lower pay rate per message than we already do. Most operators are negative as it is already. Understandable, but it does not make our work any fun. And because of all the negativity, we find the risk of lowering the price any further too high, it might lead to more abuse.
Of course we do understand people not being happy making less and less money. But what most people do not realise is that with less countries, less codes and less traffic, for us that is the same. For DNS that is even worse: pay gets less, number of codes is getting less and less, traffic per code gets less, but for every abuse they pay a high fine and those fines stay the same. As a result of that the affilliate party did not make any money on it anymore already. We were trying to keep it up to keep the people working and make it through until things get better. But with the recent developments the risk gets so high, DNS would lose money on it because the fines are higher than the profit.
So what will happen now? Is this the end of it all? Not likely, when things turn for the better, the company will need all those people again. But when, well that is uncertain to us all, lets just hope vaccination will start to take effect and in a few months things start turning back to normal.
As for your payments: we will run the stats like we always do and you will get your invoice. Payments will be done next month (because we need to waiit until the money is in form the overall company, that does not change). Everyone who has 35 euro or more in their balance, will get paid.
Your balance is the total of all outstanding invoices.
So that means you will be paid in February and usually they receive the money from the overall company around the 7th, so that is when the payments start (can take a few days before they are done).
If you have less than 35, your balance will stay valid (unlimited) until we can offer something again (WOW in association with DNS), no matter if this will be for this company or another.
We get a lot of questions about this: I have 24 euro pending, why can't I get paid / This is a scam, I want my 15 euro, you guys are a fraud and so on.
Our first answer is always 'that is not possible'. It seems really hard to understand for people we actually mean that literally.
The costs of receiving money exist of: the sending bank's fee, the international transfer fee, the intermediary bank's fee, your bank's fee and possible currency exchange rate costs. All his together can easily go up to close to 35 euro. So above that they don't pay because it can even cost you money (if your bank credits you for 2 euro and then debits the costs after, you will lose on the trasaction). Worse case scenario is that, because it is not sufficient, it gets refunded. This will always cost you money: the sending bank's fee is always gone, but on top of that, both your bank and the sending bank can take out a reclamation fee and the total costs of that can be higher than what you had in your balance. So when we can offer something again, that would mean that in stead of having +19 euro in your account, you would start with -15 euro.
Last thing: your balance stays valid, most companies would say, sorry no can do, money gone.
