Hi all, As of now 'we' will not be offering DNS anymore. The client (the overall company) is giving us too much hassle. The one moment they tell us, make sure you fill the peak hours, so we we work our asses off and put people in. And a week later on top of all accounts of the people who use VPN or show no IP at all, they start closing accounts for 'quality' because there are too many people in. And even then there is little traffic. Okay we do understand this is all corona related and they too do not know what the next week will look like at the moment, but still. The latest thing is that there were going to close all accounts with high numbers, because they are more likely to commit abuse or write bad quality messages. Well, we have been operators too and we know that is at least a 'tad straightforwarded'. Also compaired to other parties we have very little abuse. Would have been nicer, if they would just be open about it, in stead of making it seam it i...
Converting to USD and sending it through Payoneer's dollar checking account is another viable method for Nigerians having payment issues. But in general I believe having a domiciliary account with your local bank abroad is best.
ReplyDeleteIt is not possible for the company to send money in USD.

DeleteIs this allowed as a method of receiving payment with your company @peter.
ReplyDeleteIt seems to be working yes, but we don't know if it is available for all countries. So you will need to check it out. Also, do not forget that companies like these require you complete the verification process with a valid ID, like Passport, ID Card, or Driving license. They might not accept other documents, but again, you need to find out. Things can be different for different countries, we don't know that.
DeleteWhat's the way forward if transfers to Nigerian banks aren't successful and the company can't send payments in dollars(In my opinion, this isn't ideal. The company should be flexible to execute financial services efficiently)?
ReplyDeleteThis thing is simple. A WOW staff should have a Payoneer account. All Nigerian payments can be sent to the staff, the staff should do a Euro to dollar conversion within the Payoneer account and wire the respective Nigerians expecting payment.
The fact that there are a lot of issues with receiving money in Nigeria has nothing to do with the inflexibility of the company. Even from the WOW account we used before (another bank, another account type) there were always issues. In any given month this company pays money to at least 15 different countries. Over time WOW has paid to people in more than 80 different countries worldwide. It is not that there is never a problem, but those are incidents. In Nigeria it seems to be structural. The country is the problem, or better said, the Nigerian banking system seems to be.
DeleteAlso and forgive me to mention this, this will probably give me a lot of negative reactions again, but it is not only the bank, also the people. On estimate half of the problems people come forward with are really related to the bank. The other half turn out to be 'people' problems: they have a limited student account and went over their limit, they do not have an activated euro option and can only receive Naira, they never completed their verification process (both with Payoneer and regular banks), they gave us wrong details, completely wrong account numbers, the serial number of their bank card as account number, wrong BIC codes, and even a different name, because they try to get paid through a friend which is not allowed and they don't understand a bank is not going to accept that.
And please note we WARN for that, not only in the payment page on this blog, but also the website where you apply PLUS when you go to the application form to apply you get this text:
WARNING
Our general terms and conditions you can find here: https://worldonlinework.net/english/dns-international
You were not going to apply to a job without reading it properly were you? READ IT.
And STILL people do not read
We try to inform people as good as we can, but it really stands or falls with the willingness to read and taking your own responsibility as well.
And then when things go wrong we get to hear we are not flexible because we did not solve your problem in a day.
"This thing is simple. A WOW staff should have a Payoneer account. All Nigerian payments can be sent to the staff, the staff should do a Euro to dollar conversion within the Payoneer account and wire the respective Nigerians expecting payment."
Speaking of not reading, I think you missed a couple of posts on this blog.
Payoneer changed their policy again, so even if we would have a Payoneer account this would not work.
Besides that companies like Payoneer and Paypal do NOT support this kind of work, which is literally and clearly stated in their terms and conditions (we DO read).
If they find out the will freeze all funds as happened to a studio who worked for this very same company and a lot of people never got paid because of it.
All companies now involved are chamber of commerce registered official companies and bound by law to use a corporate account.
So as a company we can't take that risk and we are not even allowed to either. This has all been posted before.
To pay TO a Payoneer account is not a problem, not for the company, not for their bank. It is Payoneer who changed the option, not us. Did you send a message to Payoneer to tell them to change that back and tell them they are not flexible? Did you try to get a bitsafe account?
There are thousands of ways for Nigerians to get paid if bank transfer isn't working. Our payments shouldn't be delayed because the company isn't flexible.
ReplyDeleteThere's always a way to fix problems.
The company is not flexible, because it is a chamber of commerce registered real company and they are bound by law to work with a corporate bank account and register every little thing for tax purposes. Also all involved parties are bound to follow the rules of governmental authorities like the authority of consumer and market.
DeleteThe company therefore is as flexible as can be as long as they can pay directly from a corporate account to ... any option, such as Payoneer. That Payoneer changes their rules is the inflexibility of Payoneer, not the company and not their bank.
So far we have come up with a possible solution within Payoneer and with Bitsafe.
If you tell me there are a thousand different ways to get paid there, there must be some of those which are not related to a Nigerian bank, but you can receive money from that comes from a bank abroad. So step forward and let's hear them.
Have you looked up Barter by Flutterwave @Peter
DeleteHave you considered Barter by Flutterwave @Peter
DeleteNever heard of it, just checked it out. It is meant for built into websites, buying online and pay local bills, there is no option for payroll and international transfers like that and also this (from their own website):
DeleteNote: At the moment, bank account payments are only available for NGN, USD, and ZAR payments. Also, recurring payments can not be made directly using bank accounts. They have to be processed via cards.
Flutterwave has a business account known as RAVEPAY for receiving international payments from customers and companies. BARTER is for making card payments.
DeleteQuestion is: can they pay directly from a foreign bank to Ravepay?
DeleteI got a bitsafe account already. Verified!
ReplyDeleteWhat should I do next?
Contact your coach to update your details
DeletePlease how do I verify my Bitsafe account as a Nigerian? They keep rejecting.
DeleteSorry but we can't give the answer to that because we don't know what the reason for rejecting is. You will need to contact Bitsafe for that to find out what is wrong. Can be anything like not accepting some kinds of verification, details not complete yet and so on
DeleteI am feeling something is going on and that this is not an act of mistake here.
ReplyDelete???
DeletePaying through bitcoins would have been so easy
ReplyDeleteHas been tried in the past, did not work.
DeleteTaxwise technically almost undoable.
Also a company that needs to pay multiple hundreds of people wants to work with one system, they do not care what it is on the receiving end as long as THEY can pay from their corporate account, which is totally logic
I just got information that Payoneer is working. if that's the case, why can't we use friends or colleagues payoneer account to receive our payment and move past these trying times?
ReplyDeleteIt's clear that nothing will be smooth soon.
I am tired of waiting for all these delays. It's the 21st and nothing!
We can't confirm this yet. You are the first and only to mention this so far (that Payoneer would be working again). But if, as you say, it is working again, why don't you get an account yourself?
Delete"why can't we use friends or colleagues Payoneer account to receive our payment and move past these trying times?"
1. It is not allowed by the company, to prevent fraud.
2. Bot WOW and Supercash are legit, chamber of commerce registered, companies and bound by law to register every single ID and banking details to:
a) make sure you are 18 years of age ate least
b) you are the person who applied for the job, is doing the job and gets paid for the job
