Hi all, As of now 'we' will not be offering DNS anymore. The client (the overall company) is giving us too much hassle. The one moment they tell us, make sure you fill the peak hours, so we we work our asses off and put people in. And a week later on top of all accounts of the people who use VPN or show no IP at all, they start closing accounts for 'quality' because there are too many people in. And even then there is little traffic. Okay we do understand this is all corona related and they too do not know what the next week will look like at the moment, but still. The latest thing is that there were going to close all accounts with high numbers, because they are more likely to commit abuse or write bad quality messages. Well, we have been operators too and we know that is at least a 'tad straightforwarded'. Also compaired to other parties we have very little abuse. Would have been nicer, if they would just be open about it, in stead of making it seam it i...
How to find my flag?
ReplyDeleteYou can't see your flag, the company can see that in the system. If you work with a computer / laptop and have a normal internet connection, the company will see your country flag + corresponding IP.
DeleteBut if you work with a VPN, IP hider or anything like that, they will see the flag of the country your VPN connection is routed through or a blue flag.
If you work wireless from phone, very often that is routed through another country (very often USA) and your account shows a wrong flag.
To be clear: working from phone, or using IP hider or VPN is not allowed.
Using Anti Virus is okay right? I am not a techy person so I don't know if my Anti Virus have VPN.
DeleteNo an anti virus program should not have anything to do with it. There are browsers with built in VPN, like Opera (however the option is set standard to off, so if that is active you have set that to active yourself and you should put it back to off again)
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteWhat if I hotspot my laptop with a phone, will it show a wrong flag?
ReplyDeleteYes, if your phone is running on wireless data, which will be the case, because why else would you hotspot your laptop with your phone. So that means you are actually working through your phone data, which on wireless might run through a non local wireless network. To the company that is the same as working from phone.
DeletePeople use their phones as hot-spots to work with their laptops all the time. It's among the many ways to connect the Internet. Not everyone uses a Lan cable or some form of WiFi.
DeletePeople ignore red traffic lights all the time or don't keep their distance of 1.5 meter in public without wearing face masks. That things are possible does not mean they are allowed.
ReplyDeleteI forget to ask sometimes I am using a netbook that I think some of the features are like to those mobiles phones. Am I going to get blocked because of that?
ReplyDeleteNot that I know
DeleteI hope it's okay to use since I had been using it and I don't really want to get blocked.
DeleteWhat if I connect a modem to my computer, would my flag be visible?
ReplyDeleteIt should yes
DeleteIf my account is blocked due to using a phone. Is it a temporary or permanent block?
ReplyDeleteThat would be long term at least 3 months since you get a job where it is clearly stated working from phone is forbidden and you think I don't care.
DeleteI work with my phone when my system is down. Will this affect my account?
ReplyDeleteDid you even bother to read the rules ever? Working from phone is not allowed to begin with.
