Zenith Bank Nigeria

We advise all people using this bank to switch to another bank, because this bank is not capable to handle incoming international transfers and not capable in instructing their financial officers:

Transfers
First of all this bank will not inform/alert you that the money is in. You need to go to your bank branch and inform them. No other bank does that. Second they will then ask you to write 'a letter of converse'. Without that they will not exchange the euro's into naira and put it into your account. Again, no other bank does this.

Instructions
Next to that it seems they don't even know their own procedures. The above (however weird it may be) is the procedure they should follow and in (luckily) most cases has been done now.
But we have had several operators with all kind of problems at different branches. Some people have been to their branch 3 times and never got told they need to alert or write that letter. A couple even got told it is not possible to receive euro's to begin with and that the money would be send back. Since other people got their money that is false information, also so far we received nil refunds from Zenith bank.
Other branches now seem to require signed contracts from the company, where others never were asked and got their money. But this is freelance work and with freelance work contract are not mandatory nor legally required and we don't use those, nor have those. At yet another branche they will just tell you nothing is received. The complaints are endless. Very bad bank. In some cases they will tell you that we should contact our bank. That is of no use, if a transfer has been made, it has been made. You can't just ask a bank what is wrong, they will tell you to check the details, if those are correct there is nothing they can do. You can ask for them to trace the money, but that will cost you a lot of money, starting with a minimum of 25 euro and that can add up to a uknown amount.

    1. First you need a new bank, then contact your coach, he/she will tell you what details they need and then send it to our administration department so they can update your details

    2. @peter I couldn't get a euro receiving account on my payoneer. Do you guys accept other currencies receiving accounts?

    3. It is not about if we accept that, but the other way around, if Payoneer would accept if we send euro to a non euro currency Payoneer account. We are the sender not Payoneer the receiver, so ask Payoneer.

  4. This is unrelated to this bank but I wondered whether the UK leaving the EU would have any bearing on euros being sent to a Payoneer account. Are there any other UK members who use Payoneer that have had problems since we left the EU?

  6. UBA has been good.
The money comes in like 2 to 3 days.
    No issues whatsoever.

    You just get an alert.
    As simple as that.
